Arthur Saiz Obituary

ARTHUR JACOB SAIZ Arthur Jacob Saiz passed away suddenly on February 6th, 2015 in Colorado. The eldest of nine siblings, Arthur was born on March 8, 1950 to Antonio and Geraldine Saiz in Santa Fe. He was a graduate of St. Michael's High School, class of 1968. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tony, Jim, and Philip. He is survived by his sister Martha and husband Alan Kossman, sister Ann and husband Rick Padilla, sisters Nancy and Holie Saiz, brother Vincent Saiz, and many nieces, and nephews, and step daughter Anika Gusterman. Art was truly one of a kind. He was loved by all who knew him and were blessed to have shared in his rich life. As a young man, Art worked side-by-side with his father and brothers for Saiz Plumbing and Heating, which was originally established in Santa Fe in 1917 by his grandfather, Guadalupe Saiz. An avid traveler, Art loved his time spent overseas in Europe and Antarctica. In 1988, Art received both the Department of the Navy Anarctica Service Medal and the National Science Foundation Anarctica Service Medal. Art was a great story teller and loved to recount his experiences learning about new cultures and meeting new people. He was also a true biue liberal who was happy to share his passionate political world views with anyone who cared to listen. Art will be deeply missed by his many friends and family. Pallbearers: Nephews and Nieces: Anthony Saiz, David Garcia, Jaiden Garcia, Adonna Kossman. Honorary Pallbearers are his great nieces and nephews whom he adored: Ava, Elizabeth, Santyana, James and Dominic. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 9:00 a.m., San Isidro Catholic Church, 3688 Agua Fria Street Small Church. A reception to celebrate his life will immedialty follow at the Eagles club, 833 early Street. A special thank you to all who donated on GoFundMe to bring Art home.
