Barbara Spink Obituary

BARBARA SIMMS SPINK 10/27/26 - 9/29/18 Barbara Simms Spink passed away Saturday evening, September 29th, just shy of her 92nd birthday. She was always kind and loving to everyone; gracing all with her lovely smile. Her extraordinary beauty was matched by her extraordinary spirit throughout her long life. She was strong too, having beaten no less than four cancers over the years! Barbara is survived by her three grateful children Sharon, William and James along with her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who all loved her greatly and knew her as "Grandmoom". Her husband of nearly fifty years, William O. Spink, predeceased her in 2006. Her sister Dorothy also predeceased her. Barbara's cousin Jean Scammon Hyland was her dearest friend but only one of many who will be saddened by the passing of such a beautiful and loving woman. Santa Fe, NM, Sunapee and Exeter, NH and Greenwich, CT (where she raised her family and volunteered for years at Greenwich Hospital) were all special places to her. She was a long-time member of PEO chapters in both Santa Fe and Exeter. A private family gathering will take place in early November in Sunapee, NH to remember our beautiful mother.

My mother and father were close friends with Ethel Hays and Bill Simms who I believe were Mrs. Spinks' parents. I have a beautiful Indian head piece painted by Ethel and would love to learn more about Ethel's work in that area. I also have some autographed Raggedy Ann & Andy books. Would love to hear from some family. 520-237-5824 ( leave message)
