Cleo Maestas

CLEO MAESTAS Our beloved Mom passed away on April 21, 2008. Cleo was born on June 1, 1933 to Mariana and Dionicio Maestas. Cleo is survived by her children: Christine, Denise, Marlene, and Alvin; grandchildren: Carlos, Marissa, Sonja, Jenna, Alyssa, Jarrod, Jazmine, and Santiago; great grandsons: Angelo and Brayden. Cleo is also survived by her brothers: Ben and Rudy; in-laws: Anthony Ronquillo, Michelle Romero, Patty Maestas and Mike; and many other loving relatives and wonderful friends. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rubel; her granddaughter, Nicole; and the father of her children, Luis Romero. Cleo was the first female dispatcher and jailer hired by the Santa Fe Police Department. After marrying Luis, Cleo began working in the restaurant industry, making many friends at Maria's, The Little Chief, The Forge and she worked at La Fonda for 40 friend filled years. Family, food and flowers were Cleo's passions. Family harmony was Cleo's priority, and one couldn't leave Cleo's home without sustenance. Flowers were the legacy carried on from her Mother Mariana. Any financial gifts will be donated to The Kidney Foundation. Please join Cleo's family for a service celebrating her life beginning with a Visitation Friday, April 25, 2007, 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service on Saturday, April 26, 2008, 10 a.m. Both will be held at McGee Memorial Chapel.
