Eloy Quintana Obituary

Eloy E. Quintana (Pop) Left this earth on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, to join the love of his life, his wife Nellie; daughter, Bernadette; son, Gene; parents, brothers, and sisters. Left to grieve are his children: Mike and wife Nancy of Austin, TX, and Joe and wife Kathy of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law, Virginia of Ottowa, KS; grandchildren: Adette, Matt, Sean, Val, and Rene; sisters, Eleanor Roybal and Florine Fernandez; nieces, nephews, numerous great grandchildren; and his special angel, Linn Vann of Albuquerque. Pop was born on November 1918 in Espanola, NM. He was a lifelong New Mexican, raised and married in Santa Fe, and raised his family in Los Alamos and Albuquerque. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. His civil service career spanned the U.S. Dept. of Energy in Los Alamos to his final station as Housing Officer at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. He was also an avid golfer and made two holes-in-one. Pop was an extraordinary gentleman whose strength, values, and dedication to his family was an example to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
