Josie Armijo Obituary

Santa Fe - Josie Armijo, age 89, of Glorieta, New Mexico, passed away on April 23, 2024. Josie was born February 15, 1935, in La Posada (Pecos), to the late Agustin Garcia and Crusita Sandoval Garcia. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Nick Armijo Sr., and son, James Edward Armijo. Brothers Clotario and Marty Garcia, and Sister Flora Sandoval.
Josie was a dedicated OBGYN nurse, bringing many babies into this world over her 40-plus-year career. Josie is survived by her children Nick Jr. (Bernadette), Linda (Ray), and Anna (Marcos), 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and special caregiver Amalia.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 11 St. Anthonys Loop, Pecos, NM. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery following the services.
Rivera Family Funeral and Cremations in Santa Fe has been entrusted with her care.

Anna, Nick and Linda - My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was sad to hear of Josie's passing. She was a beautiful person and I was actually thinking of her in the days prior to her passing, wondering how she was doing.

How well I remember wonderful Josie, working hard and so well, laughing, singing along with the band and dancing! She had such a full life. I´m grateful to have known her.

Josie was truly dedicated to Ob/Gyn but she also served her community working in the Pecos clinic. It was an honor being her colleague and manager at St. Vincent Hospital. Rest in Heaven
