LUCY CHAVEZ Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lucy S. Chavez. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Our mother passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025 in Santa Fe, NM at the age of 99.
Lucy S Chavez was born on July 8, 1925 in San Patricio, NM and lived a life filled with joy, kindness and a deep commitment to her faith. She was a devoted mother, a cherished wife to Sam, and a good friend to many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymundo and Agustina Sanchez, her beloved husband, Sam Chavez and her son, Michael G Chavez.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Elsie) Chavez, William (Lorella) Chavez, Cindy (Juan) Abeyta and Sandra (Paul) Armijo. Her 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff of BeeHive Santa fe and Roadrunner Hospice. Thank you for helping us in this final chapter with your compassion and kindness. A memorial service was on March 14, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic church. On March 17, 2025 she was laid to rest with her husband, Sam, at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
We are deeply saddened, but her memory will live on in our hearts and her last words, "Amen Amen "

My father Jimmy Gallegos was at the Beehive with Lucy. She was such a beautiful soul with such an amazing. My family was blessed to spend time with Lucy and her family. A long life with so many cherished memories for the family to look back on.
