Mary Huber Graham

My mother Jane Parker Huber loved Mary who she came to know when they were both working at the Presbyterian Center Headquarters in Louisville. They shared a passion for advocating for women, for the gifts of all God´s people. When Mom knew she was nearing the end of her own life, she wished Mark Kuhns could officiate her memorial service. To this day, I regret I did not find it possible to make that happen as Mary had recently moved away. I finally spoke with Mary about this a few years ago. She was so unproblematic about my feelings of regret. I was in my way to visit her, but a broken bone interrupted my trip! I´m grateful to read the fond memories here and her amazingly full life of service. Blessings abound!

Having been part of a group of painters, I was lucky to paint alongside Mary and enjoy her delightful water color sketches and her sweet personality. She will be missed greatly!

I was Marys health insurance agent for the last 9 years or so. Mary was always so fun to talk to, whether answering questions about her insurance or just shooting the you know what. I always looked forward to our time on the phone. I'm sad that I won't be able to help her anymore and never got to meet her in person. I'm glad she passed peacefully without suffering and will miss her.

Mary Ann Lundy - Mary was competent, sensitive, always aware of others needs. She was constantly learning new insights into the lives of others, especially of older persons. Her sensitivity to others´ needs endeared her to them. As a a therapist, teacher and friend, she helped many through difficult times and periods of their lives.
We are especially grateful to have had her perform our marriage and be a continuing source of counsel and loving friendship.

I am Mary's nephew Scott Kuhns. I've known Aunt Mary for over 65 years. She was always an upbeat, fun, and happy person. She was always great with kids and pets. I last saw her when she lived in Claremont. I loved to see her at Christmas time. We will all miss her so much. I'm sure she has a special place in heaven. R.I.P Aunt Mary, you were one of a kind.

We should all aspire to live a life as rich, fulfilling, and charitable as Mary's life. Mary was an active and graceful instrument of her faith, always answering the call to serve others in need, perhaps even when the need wasn't realized. She was a strong advocate for women's rights and protections, never accepting that enough had been done or that she had done enough. She brightened every room with her charm, humor, intelligence, and stories of her adventurous life. We shared her love of animals, particularly her precious family of dogs, and could talk endlessly about our doggies and the love and entertainment they gifted to us. Mary was a tireless soldier of compassion and truth. She unquestionably made a positive difference in so many lives, and we are extremely grateful for Mary's presence in our world.

I'm so grateful that Mary served as Parish Associate early on in my ministry at Central Presbyterian Church in Louisville, KY. Mary was a friend, confidante, and mentor to me. She was wise and funny, loved people and animals, and had a great bull**** detector. I give thanks to God for her life and witness.
