Patsy Rivera Obituary
Patsy Apodaca Rivera, born August 24, 1940, passed away peacefully on May 30. She spent her remaining days in the care and company of loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Ellen, husband Joe, brother Ray, nephews Christopher Dassaro and Joey Apodaca, niece Benita Gutierrez.
She is survived by her siblings, Margie Anaya, Tina Dassaro, Mickey Apodaca, wife Jeanne, and Billie Gutierrez, stepdaughter Stephanie (Jerry Wilson) and special cousin Jackie Morales.
Patsy was born in Santa Fe and attended college at ENMU in Portales, New Mexico, where she received a double masters degree. After completion, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to teach deaf and hearing-impaired children which she truly loved. She then moved back to Santa Fe in 1978 to teach. Her life was full of activity and art. She learned to play the piano and create beautiful oil paintings.
Services will be on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Saint Anne's Church, rosary at 10 am, mass at 11 am followed by a celebration of life at Saint Anne's Center.
