Jose Luis Rivera

Jose Luis Rivera, age 64, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on January 10, 2026. He was born in Manhattan, NY on February 20, 1961, the ion of the late Diego Rivera and Maria Cruz Rivera.

Jose loved doing fun things with the family such as going camping, going to the cabins, the beach, visiting new places, he loved to be spontaneous.

Jose loved working with computers. He worked for the United Nation for two terms, wherever they needed a field tech he was there. He also worked at the World Trade Center, the Empire State building, and worked at the Pepsi company.

He grew up in the Catholic faith and did his communion and confirmation, before he passed, he was really into the spiritual part of religion.

Jose is survived by his wife, Nuris Savournin' Rivera, son, Lionel Rivera, daughter, Yajaira Delgado, daughter, Alisha Rivera, son, Christopher Shouford, son-in-law, Danny Delgado, grandson, Daniel Delgado, grandson, Emmanuel Delgado, granddaughter, Giomari Delgado, granddaughter, Lismari Delgado, son-in-law, Francisco Lorenzo, grandson, Fernando Lorenzo, and grandson, Ivan Lorenzo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Diego Rivera and Maria Cruz Rivera, and his three older brothers, Carlos Rivera, Chemon Rivera, and Felipe Cruz.

A public visitation will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E Stein Highway, Seaford, DE. Interment will follow the funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
