Travis J. Kouts, 90, of
Seaford, Delaware passed away on February 7, 2026.
Travis was born on March 20, 1935, in
Van Wert, Ohio. After his high school graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served from 1954-1958. While stationed at Dover Air Force Base, he met his wife, Lorraine, on a blind date. Travis spent most of his career working as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, but he also worked as a salesman for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company. He enjoyed walking his daily route in town and serving the public. He even received an award from the Seaford Police Department for stopping a crime while on his route. He retired from the post office in 1996. After retirement, he kept busy working as a driver for Delmarva Transportation.
In his younger years, Travis enjoyed singing barbershop harmony and was a member of the Chorus of the Nanticoke, performing in their annual shows. Travis was very active with the Nanticoke Senior Center and was instrumental in their transition to their current location. He also delivered Meals on Wheels and served on their Board of Directors. He was also a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Travis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Commanders, and Ohio State University.
Travis is proceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene (Agler) Kouts, and his brother Harry Kouts of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine (Morrison), his children, Curtis (Renea) Kouts of Seaford and Cinda (Robert) Younce of
Newark, DE, along with four grandchildren, Curt (Caitlin) Kouts, Chase (Kristin) Kouts, Riley (Chris) Hessler, and Ryan (Hanna) Younce, and two great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, at Concord United Methodist Church, 25322 Church Road,
Seaford, DE where visitation begins at 11 am and service follows at 12 noon. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Travis' memory to Concord United Methodist Church or the Nanticoke Senior Center.
