My deepest condolence to Susan, Ray Jr, Feliciana, Roselyn, the Anaya and Barela families on Ray´s passing. Ray and I have been best friends since grade school going back to Alvord and Hansen Elementary and we continued through BF Young Jr High and into SF High School (Class of 82). My heart´s howling Ray!! Your passing has left me devastated beyond belief. I will miss you like crazy. I will never forget the hoop days at St. Anne´s, playing into the night with the car lights on. Those were the days! Playing with Joey Bowker, Joby Sisneros and Donald Garcia. No one wanted to lose, so we´d kick the basketball down the street or throw it into the neighbor´s yard so no one would win. Some damn good times brother! Oh, and let´s not forget the wonderful 5 o´clock in the morning, Mario Maes´ (Moyle) 1950´s Willy Jeep rides in the freezing winter to practice because our wonderful coach Wally wanted to prove a point. We could go down memory lane forever. The late night talks into the morning, the fights and then we would make up. Definitely blood brothers for life. As we played basketball into high school Ray wasn´t the biggest kid on the court but he had a heart of a giant. Ray´s sheer will, commitment and perseverance wasn´t going to let anyone beat him. We spoke recently on the phone on a surprise call along with your cousin Mike Anaya. Though our call was brief, I truly believe you called to tell me goodbye. I will always remember our last words... I love you brother! I will never forget you Ray. In my heart you are a champion! Until we meet again, keep the B-Ball on ice and fly high with the angels! May you rest in peace until we see each other again in Heaven.
I Love You Brother!

My condolences to the Anaya family. Ray and I went to school and played high school basketball with each other. He always brought a smile to our days. His heart was always looking out for the less fortunate, that is just the kind of man he was. May our LORD welcome him home with open arms.

While I did not know Raymond, I was blessed to have gotten to know Sue, Feliciano, Ray, and Rosie, mostly through Show Choir while they lived in Hastings. I have thought you all often and now am heartbroken to learn about your dad's/husband's death. He must have been a wonderful father and spouse to have such a beautiful and loving family. Prayers for your comfort.

Hey, brother. It's been a while, but I think about you every day. The world feels a little less steady without you here, but I carry your strength and your laugh with me wherever I go. You were more than a friend-you were my brother in arms, my family. Rest easy, Marine. I've got the watch from here.
