ROBERT GONZALES Obituary
January 12, 1944 – April 3, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert L. Gonzales, who left us peacefully on April 3rd, 2025. Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on January 12th, 1944, Robert lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and generosity.
Robert had an extraordinary gift for making others feel at ease. With a loving nature and a quick wit, he was always ready with a joke, a story, or a helping hand. He brought joy and comfort to everyone lucky enough to know him, and his presence made the world feel a little kinder and a lot more fun.
He is survived by his immediate family: loving partner, Margaret Mitchell; daughter, Loretta Gonzales; and cherished granddaughter, Mia Buchow. Robert also leaves behind other dear members of his family and extended family, whom he loved deeply and held close to his heart.
We find it difficult to imagine a world without his infectious laugh, his kindness, his huge spirit, and his storytelling. He will be remembered for his zest to help all who crossed his path, his determination, and the joy he was able to impart on so many.
Robert's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The Santa Fe and Veteran community lost a very generous person. I spend the last 2 1/2 years getting to do Robert and his wife Margaret who are the proprietors of Aspen Cleaners. Whenever I had time to just stop by and chitchat with him who was always awesome as he had pretty cool stories to share. My condolences go out to his wife, Margaret and the rest of his family. From one Navy vet to another Fairwinds and following seas Shipmate!
