Hello Ruben
I can't beleive how fast time has passed. It is so sad when you need information from a friend you know will always give you the best advise and the truth at that. I miss you so much. I still can't believe it. I think that one day you will just pop up and call me. I know you are in the Heavens watching over all of us. I am glad I have an angel like you to guide me. I love and miss you my friend!!!

Ruben's smile and laughter at the gym will never be forgotten. He was there almost everyday trying to get that needed workout in like the rest of us. Friendly, genuine and just a really good guy. Damn, I am gonna miss him. My prayers go out to his family.

Paul and the family of Ruben, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Ruben. In fact, I am in shock, because I just saw Ruben three weeks ago at Albertson's and we stopped and chatted a bit.
He always had a gorgeous smile and always a sense of humor. So many friends who adored him who have lost a true friend.
Ruben and I were born two days apart of the same year .. so I will always remember his birthday. I know Ruben is looking down upon us .. smiling and sending us lots of love because he is walking on streets of gold now.

Ruben was such an incredible friend. I met him when we worked together at the State Engineer's office. He always kept the workplace alive and laughing. His unique sense of humor will be sorely missed. We still imitate some of the voices he made to make us laugh. (Ahhh know!)
After working together, we became fast friends. He was always easy to be around and the life of the party. We enjoyed traveling with Ruben to Puerto Vallarta where he easily befriended the local elderly ladies on an Ill fated cruise we were persuaded to go on. I will never forget him eating dried shrimp out of one of the ladies purses!
He never complained or found fault in others, rather he laughed at our shared weaknesses and frailties. I treasure the nick-names you gave to friends, and want to make sure we keep that lunch date. Comadre, you will be missed and are deeply loved.

Our Deepest Sympathies to the Rodriguez Family! Can anyone who knew Ruben ever be the same after? He was a joy! I am sad to say I hadnt seen Ruben in awhile - but anytime I ran into him he treated me like we had just seen one another!
Ruben you will be truly missed! You are/were a loving soul. All who had an opportunity to meet you will surely miss - your memory will live on!
God Only Cries for the Living for its the living that are so far from home!
Take Comfort in knowing that Ruben is HOME with a smile on his face cause he's in a better place than we've ever known.

Ruben loved people. Ruben loved life. He defined the word "generosity" and in return, he had countless, loyal, lifelong friends. He was my best friend for more than 30 years and I could count on him no matter what. I am grateful to have had him in my life and I will miss him forever. I knew Ruben by the light in his eyes as we walked in the dark most mornings to go spinning.... he made that sweaty experience as light as anyone could....

It was with great sadness that Rhon and I learned of Ruben's death. We stayed in touch by Christmas cards since leaving NM, and wanted to say that he was always such an honest, funny, loving and generous man -- we both feel honored to have known him. He and Paul made such a wonderful home together, and I used to love bumping into one or both of the guys at the SFCC gym. His cooking, his laugh, his ribald sense of humor, and his true blue friendship were all an inspiration. If there is anyone who shot right up to Heaven, it's Ru. I know that Ruben baptised me with all his heart because i have so many of his ways. I am just one of a few god children that Ruben had. My nino was so full of life, and had such a big heart. He would call me every year for my birthday, never remembered how old, but he remembered the day. I did'nt get to see him every day, but he was always there for me.I will miss my nino so much. He will always be in my heart and my thoughts.

Our community of Santa Fe has lost one of our loving sons, Ruben. Ruben knew everyone, spoke to everyone, and made everyone feel special. I will always feel his smile and hear his laughter. I know he is in heaven meeting everyone at the pearly gates and giving them a abrazo, a welcome, and probaby cooking for them and maybe sharing a margarita.

My thouhts and prayers go out to the Rodriguez family. Ruben was a co-worker of mine and I remember when I first started working with him he was always making breakfast burritos in the office for all of his co-workers and everytime he had a party or a RED CARPET EVENT at his house he would bring any leftovers he had to his co-workers at the offfice he loved to cook and was always feeding his friends and co-workers, filling the office with laughter and his many stories.
