SOPHIE LUJAN Obituary
Sophie Helen Lujan, also known as Sophia, passed away on March 18,2023 at 12 pm. She was born on October 19,1961 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Margarita Sandoval and Joe Lujan. She attended and graduated from Santa Fe high school. As a young adult Sophie dedicated her time and efforts in administration for the State of New Mexico. She worked hard to become the state regional manager and retire from the State of New Mexico.
During her life Sophie touched the lives of many people. She was known for delicious red chile, expertise in administration, and involvement and support in her daughter's sports.
Sophie was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Margarita Lujan, her daughter Lorie Martinez, her sister-in-law Debbie Lujan, and other loved ones.
Sophie is survived by her two daughters Estrella and Arianna Madrid; her son-in-law Anthony Johnson Jr.; her grandchildren Jesus Martinez, Lucas Sanchez, Mathias Sanchez, and Cataleya Johnson; her great-granddaughter Lorie Martinez; her siblings, Lillian and Adrian Martinez, Geno and Mae Lujan, Ray Lujan, Jose Lujan, and Linda Lujan and Jason. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A rosary and mass will take place at Christo Rey Catholic Church on April 19th at 10:30 am with a reception to follow.
Sophie's daughters would like to thank everyone who came into their mother's life. Especially those who cared for her and laughed with her. She will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear about Sophie. My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family. Sophie was a good friend to me. She was always kind to all who crossed her path. She will be sorely missed.

Oh my heart breaks reading this. Sophie and I worked together and became friends. We hung out and always had a great time. We lost touch but reconnected a few years ago through social media. I hadn't seen her in many years but she was a dear friend. Rest in peace, Sophie.
