Gabriel Olivas Obituary
Gabriel Manuel Olivas Sr. was born and raised in Santa Maria CA. on March 28, 1964, and passed away at 46 years old on August 1, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Tanya K. Olivas of 26 years, his 4 children Gabriel Manuel Olivas Jr. , Erica LaShawn Olivas, Alleena Novella Olivas, and Jaron James Olivas; his parents Manuel, and Dalia Olivas; his brother Paul Olivas; his sisters Denise (Robert), Sara, and Cynthia (Benji). He was a loving grandfather to his 3 grandchildren, Azelia, Taliia, and Maiya. He also had another on the way from his eldest son. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved very much.
Gabriel loved his family, and his friends. He had many friends that were like family to him. Anyone who knew him knew he was a die hard Raider fan. He loved riding his bike with his 'brothers' from the Carnales Motorcycle Club and his brother and best friend Paul. Gabriel died doing what he loved most, riding his bike. He is loved, and will be missed very much. Gabriel wouldn't want us to be sad. He would want us to live our lives knowing that we'll see him again in Paradise.
Visitation will be held at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary on Thursday August 5, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary at 1:00 pm on Friday August 6, 2010, followed by a graveside service at Santa Maria Cemetery.
Contributions may be made at any Los Padres Bank under the name of Erica Olivas for the benefit of her father Gabriel Manuel Olivas Sr...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

A bright light has gone out of our lives with the passing of Gabriel. He was a true friend, and closer than family to my son, Shannon. There are no words to comfort you for your loss. Big Gabby,you were one of the "Good Guys" not many around like you!I never saw you in a bad mood,you were the type that never brought a person down, I always seen you rolling with the punches that life has thrown through out the years!I pray your passing will not be taken for granted!It wont be long before we will ride together again on roads with out obstacles or hazards !I saw the post you tried to avoid and the color of it blends into the landscape and Im sure you didnt see it until you were very close to it!Its obvious any rider would have done the same thing you did,to brake and pull away in an effort to avoid hitting the post!You had more friends than you would ever imagine here in SM!
