I knew Lewis when he was a large bump in his Mother´s belly. Leslie and I were cousins, our Mom´s were sisters. Leslie and I grew up more like sisters than cousins. My sharpest memory of that time was sitting with Leslie as we tried to figure out where the front line of fighting was in Viet Nam because that is where Lewis´s dad Bobby would be as a Marine. So many stories first in New York then out here in California. The three of us.. Leslie, Lewis and I lived together on and off for years. Leslie´s passing left a hole in my heart, that only God could comfort. I moved to Los Osos three years ago. During this time every time Santa Maria was mentioned I would think `last time I heard Lewis was in Santa Maria, I should try and find him´, but I didn´t. Then yesterday is was in Ralph´s and saw the announcement for the memorial for Lewis Lathon. He was right here and I didn´t know, and now he is not. So many emotions come flooding back.

Lewis I'm so lost without you and your amazing sense of humor you're going above and beyond for all of us . I've got no one to explain the things at work that we had to figure out on our own the hard way now it's impossible!!
