Michael John Greiten Sr.

GREITEN, SR., MICHAEL JOHN
Michael John Greiten, Sr., went to the Lord on June 2, 2009, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was born on September 9, 1947 to Ralph & Elizabeth Greiten in Milwaukee, WI. After he graduated from West Milwaukee High in 1966 he moved to Santa Barbara and worked at Applied Magnetics. In 1970 he started his career with the State of California Dept. of Transportation. After holding various positions in his 34 year career he retired as a landscape supervisor. He married Sandra Kay Greiten in 1969. They were married for 37 years, had two children, Michael J. Greiten, Jr. and Susanna Pauley, before she passed away in 2006. He then married Marcia Ann Niessen in April 2007. Michael loved 4-wheeling in back country & taking yearly trips to the Grand Canyon. He especially loved taking his grandchildren on adventures and they brought him much happiness. Michael was active in the Central Coast Fiddlers in Nipomo, President of the Lompoc Chapter Agricultural Youth Boosters for Lompoc High School and Board Member for Lompoc First Assembly of God Church, where he was also a greeter, member of the Worship Team and a fixture at the French Bread Pizza Booth at the Flower Festival. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ralph and is first wife, Sandra. He is survived by his wife Marcia, son Michael Greiten, Jr. (Jurae), daughter Susanna Pauley, grandchildren Ross & Riley Greiten, Angelina & Cheyanne Pauley, sister Karen Lehnert (Werner), brothers Tom & Richard Greiten and various nieces and nephews. Services will be held on June 10, 2009, at Lompoc First Assembly of God Church, 213 N. J St., at 3:00pm. Donations may be made to Lompoc First Assembly at PO Box 337, Lompoc, CA 93436 or to the family at 905 W. Anthony Way, Lompoc, CA, 93436 for the Lompoc Ag Boosters which he loved.
