Roy Minami Obituary
1936 - 2024
Mr. Roy Minami passed away November 22, 2024 in a local hospital. He was born in Santa Maria, CA on June 18. 1936 to Yataro and Kishiye Minami. He was the second of six children. Roy married Emiko Minami in 1977 and raised one daughter, Jodee in Santa Maria.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Jodee and David, brothers Yaichiro Minami and Kenny Minami, Sisters Namiye Henmi and Sakaye Fujii, his granddaughter, Kaylee; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled on Friday December 6 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Guadalupe Buddhist Church, 1071 Olivera St with burial following at the Guadalupe Cemetery.
Friends, if they so desire, can make memorial contributions in Roy's name to the Guadalupe Buddhist Church, 1072 Olivera St., Guadalupe, CA 93434.

We loved Roy he was a good friend and neighbor!We shared many things in life! The love of farming vegetables and flowers but Roy really loved tomatoes! Roy will be missed Danny Quaresma and Susie Schroeder

Guadalupe Buddhist Temple and the Japanese American community of the Central Coast has experienced a great loss with the passing of Roy Minami. He was an institution. And I am better for having met and known him these past several years. My sincere condolences to his family.

When you attend grammar school in Guadalupe, you get to know everyone. That´s where I met Roy Minami and his sister Jeannie. Roy was always a great guy and always laughing. I´m going to miss him.
