Russell Dell Obituary
October 17, 1952 - January 8, 2023
Russell William Dell, age 70, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on January 8, 2023.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents William and Florence Dell and sister Connie Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Katrina Dell and his three children Amy Dell (children Skye, Oceana and Chase), Annika Walker (husband Jeff and children Abigail and Elijah) and Aaron Dell (wife April and daughter Everlee). Also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Shane and David Jaskulsky, two sisters Patty Snay and Florence Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Russell William Dell was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to California with his family when he was five. He graduated from Santa Maria High School and joined the United States Navy when he was 18. He served during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Navy he returned to Santa Maria and married the love of his life, Katrina Treur. After attending Allan Hancock College, Russell worked as a delivery driver for Hostess Cake for 34 years. Russell and his wife have been long-time Orcutt residents and raised their three children there. Russell was an active member of Evangelical Free Church for many years where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He also served on the sound crew at EV Free for many years.
Russell will be remembered as a loving husband and father who worked tirelessly and selflessly to support his family and provide them with the best life. He loved his grandchildren and took an active and supportive role in their lives and well.
At the request of the family, there will be a private celebration of life scheduled at a later date.

Great to see that Russel accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, that makes death nothing more than a gate to the eternal glory! 54 years ago I met Russell coming to the house to date his sister Patty. His magnetic personality and zeal for life was up front and endless. Talented to the point he could have gone pro on his motor cycle or racing his big block fast back 67 mustang. And a touch stone for common sense sharing his experience willingly with lucky listeners. He came to firmly believe absent the body is to be present with the Lord. Ever wonder where good men that lead their families went? Look no further than Russell Dell. Proud and blessed to have known Russ here and to come.

My friend "Russ". Such a kind hearted man that I met 20 years ago while he was a delivery man for Hostess, then I had the privilege to be a co-worker of his at FoodsCo.
He always did his best to give me advice when I was having some tough times and I was very appreciative for that.
It makes me sad knowing that we lost such a great person, and I wish I could've seen him once more.
To his family, my sincere condolences and may his memory carry on.

Russell was one of the most caring, funny and friendly people we got to know through our many years of living here in Santa Maria. Whether we saw him at Righetti High volleyball that our sons played for, or out at the Wonder Bread store on W. Betteravia he was always so kind.He will be surely missed by all who have known him. Our sincere condolences to your family. RIP
