Albert Tooker Obituary

Albert D. Tooker HADLEY - Albert D. Tooker, 72, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born April 8, 1944 in Corinth to the late Herbert L. and Rhoda (Randall) Tooker. He was a 1962 graduate of Corinth Central School. Al married J. Lorraine LeBarron on September 4, 1965 and they resided in Hadley. He served in the United States Army and attained the rank of Sergeant while serving in Munich, Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, Al began a 39 year career at International Paper Company where he worked as a millwright. He loved all sports and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate. They were his pride and joy. He was a coach, umpire and an active volunteer for the HLSD Little league for many years. Al was a member of the Hudson Sacandaga VFW Post 5836, Hadley and the William J. Varney American Legion Post 862, Lake Luzerne. He was also a member of the International Paper Quarter Century Club and the Mulleyville Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lorraine Tooker; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Beth Tooker; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise Tooker Williams and Shea Williams; six grandchildren, Aidan Tooker, Madeline Tooker, Brady Tooker, Dawson Tooker, Cayden Williams and Seamus Williams; two brothers, Ernest (Ruth) Tooker and Kenneth Tooker; one sister, Martha Woodruff; sister-in-law, Edith Tooker; one uncle Wilbur Randall; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Saturday (today) from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. A Funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Casey Bradley, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Lake Luzerne, officiating. Private burial will be in Hadley Cemetery, Hadley. In lieu of flowers contributions in Al’s memory may be made to the HLSD Little League, PO Box 345, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 or to the Steven Z. Madison Scholarship Fund, c/o Hudson River Community Credit Union, One Third St., Corinth, NY 12822 or to a charity of one’s choice.
