Charles Ball Obituary

Charles Douglas Ball of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Saratoga Springs, NY passed away November 11,2022.Charles was born August 13, 1928, in Batavia, NY, a son of Oren DeWolf and Charlotte Hummel Ball. Charles was a US Marine Veteran. A highlight of his service was being selected to be a guard at the Inauguration Ceremony for President Harry Truman. He loved to hunt, go camping with his family, make stained glass items, grew award winning orchids and was an avid photographer. He was an Eagle Scout and worked as an executive for the Boy Scouts of America, retiring as the Assistant Regional Director of the Northeast Region.Surviving is his wife; Leola Helen Snyder Ball; children; Rev. Charles Ball, Jr. (Darleena), Linda Gurley (John), Jeffrey Ball (Cherie), and Deborah Lane (Gary); 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00am at the Surfside United Methodist Church, Surfside Beach, SC.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charles D and Leola H Ball Community Charity, Inc. on Venmo (BallFamilyCharity) or PayPal ([email protected]) or mail to Jeff Ball 7 Mantle Drive Whitesboro, NY 13492.Condolences may be made at www.burroughsfh.com https://www.lastingmemories.com/charles-douglas-ball
