Daniel D’Onofrio Obituary
Born July 17, 1954, in Schenectady, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis A. (Lou Masty) and Lillian A. D'Onofrio. He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1972.
Dan worked for Albany Public Markets as an assistant manager for several years. He was a truck driver for Valenti's Bakery, Stewart's and Standard Furniture before becoming the superintendent of the Algonquin Building in Saratoga Springs until 1992. He then started his own business, Affordable Home Repair in Saratoga Springs.
Dan loved sports. He was on the basketball team and wrestling team in high school. He also was a member of the track team and won a MVP award setting a record in the 100-yard dash and the triple jump. In 1970 he was a member of the New York State Champion Bowling Team, "Gutter Dusters." He loved boating and fishing with his family and friends.
In 1986, he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He served as a ministerial servant from 1989 to 2004 and he loved teaching people the Bible.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lou and Lillian D'Onofrio; his aunt, Carrie Parker; and his uncle, George Bright Jr.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 19 years, Brenda D'Onofrio; daughters, Brandy Palmer and Bethany D'Onofrio; granddaughters, Cheyanne, Leanne and Autumn Palmer; sister, Karen Makely (Wesley); brother, Samuel D'Onofrio (Karen); uncle, Samuel Bright; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at the corner of Route 50 and Edie Road in Saratoga Springs.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall for worldwide work.
