Edna I. VanDuzee-Walter ROUND LAKE - Edna I. VanDuzee- Walter, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2017 at her residence. Born on May 27, 1921 In Bradford, PA, the daughter of Lorenzo and Oral Chase Lawton. Edna was a resident of Round Lake since 1947, she graduated from Turin High School in Turin, NY and the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY, where she received her Master’s Degree. Edna married Robert F. VanDuzee, Sr. on March 31, 1945 in Bern, NC, who predeceased her, She is survived by her second husband Norman Walter, a daughter Barbara Jean (Allan) Michelin of Wappinger Falls, NY and her son Robert F.”Robin” (Stephanie) VanDuzee, Jr. of Brigantine, NJ, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Robert she was predeceased by her sisters and brother; Gertrude Kirk , Katherine Trumbell and Edmond Lawton. Edna was a member of Round Lake United Methodist Church, where she was the Music Director for several years and also at other surrounding church’s in the area. She was a member of the Round Lake Women’s Improvement Society, which she was president of from 1960-1962, 1970-1972, 1981- 1982. Edna was a member of the Round Lake Organ Historical Association and with her love of music she was a music teacher at Ballston Spa and other schools in the area. She also ran a musical nursery school in Round Lake from 1969- 1986. The restoration of the Round Lake Auditorium and the Ferris Tracker Pipe Organ was her passion. She was the curator of the Auditorium and organized organ concerts every Sunday in August plus other programs throughout the summer months from 1966-2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday August 16, 2017 at the Round Lake United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
