Ilene Newhouse

EDINBURG - Ilene Trieble Newhouse, 80, of Edinburg and formerly of Schenectady, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born April 16, 1930, in Ballston Spa, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Baker Trieble. She was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and Ellis Hospital School of Nursing, and attended night school to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree from Russell Sage College.
Ilene was a registered nurse and worked at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady for more than 30 years, retiring as the supervising nurse in the operating room.
She was a member of the Ballston Center Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Trieble, a prominent Ballston Spa attorney; and her cousin, former town of Milton Supervisor Wilbur Trieble.
Ilene is survived by her husband, William F. Newhouse, whom she married on Aug. 17, 1985; her brother, Charles Trieble and his wife, Phyllis, of Venice, Fla.; stepdaughter, Susan Newhouse; beloved niece, Carol Sears; three nephews, Stephen Trieble, Paul Trieble and Robert Trieble and their families; two cousins, Marie Lillie and Shirley Center; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Newhouse and her daughter, Lori.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at the Ballston Center Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 58 Charlton Road, Ballston Spa.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Armer Funeral Home Inc., 39 E. High St., Ballston Spa.
