Hersh 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, surrounded by her children at Saratoga Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.Janet was born on June 11, 1932 along with her triplet sisters to Marie and Harold Remington in Saratoga Springs, NY. The family also included an older brother and two younger sisters. Janet enjoyed her childhood and was very close with her siblings.Janet earned a nursing certificate at St. Margaret’s School in Albany and enjoyed caring for newborns in local hospitals as well as caring for newborns in private homes in the area. Eventually Janet would meet the love of her life, Ronald Hersh, in Malta where they both had families. They married and moved to Ballston Spa where they raised their three children. Together, Janet and Ronald enjoyed ballroom dancing, bowling, traveling, and spending as much time with family as possible. They were over the moon when the grandchildren came along and loved spoiling them. In later years, Janet joined a Volksporting club with Ronald and traveled with the club to walk throughout the country.Janet was predeceased by her parents Marie and Harold Remington, husband Ronald Hersh; brother Harold Remington, and triplet sisters June Coleman and Joyce D’Andrea. Janet is survived by her sisters Pauline Mangino (Richard) and Dawn Murray; daughter Dale Schechter (Howard), sons Edwin Hersh (Kim Sharp), and Mark Hersh (Jennifer); grandchildren Lauren Schechter, Samantha Cunningham (Kyle), Connor Hersh, and Dawson Hersh; great granddaughter Anna Cunningham, and several nieces and nephews. Janet is also survived by her very best friend Betty MacMillin.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 24 from 2pm to 4pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Social distancing and face masks are required.
