Mark Woodcock Obituary

Mark Anthony Woodcock Greenfield- Mark Anthony Woodcock of Bockes Road, Greenfield, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia. He was 13 years old. Born on May 19, 1998 at West Point, NY, he was the son of Kenneth J. and Sheila R. (Minton) Woodcock, Jr. A lifelong resident of Greenfield, he attended Greenfield Elementary School and was presently in the 8th grade class at Maple Avenue Middle School in Saratoga Springs. Last year in seventh grade, he played football and was the goalie on the lacrosse team. His passion was Ice Hockey. Wearing the #16 jersey, he was currently playing on the Bantam "B" Team of Saratoga Youth Hockey and also played on the U.S. Metro's Select AAA Team based in Plattsburgh, NY. He is survived by his loving parents Kenneth J. and Sheila R. Woodcock, Jr and his brother Kenneth Woodcock, III all of Greenfield. Paternal grandparents Kenneth and Joanne Woodcock, Sr., of Ballston Spa. Maternal grandparents Franklin and Claudia Minton of Ozark, Alabama. Aunts and uncles: Deborah & Jay Wright of Queensbury, NY, Kimberly & David Kimball of Porter Corners, NY, and Melissa & Eric Groff of Porter Corners, NY Six cousins and four 2nd cousins. A celebration of Mark's Life will be held at 11am, on Saturday, February 18 at the Saratoga Wilton Elks Lodge #161, on Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs. Rev. Chris Kelly will officiate. Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm Friday, February 17 at Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs. Burial will be at North Milton Cemetery, Town of Milton. A reception will follow at The Wayside Inn, 104 Wilton Road, Greenfield. Online condolences and remembrances may be made at www.compassionatefuneralcare.com. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Adirondack Trust Co. in memory of Mark Woodcock or to Saratoga Youth Hockey (SYHI) with 'Woodcock Support' in the memo field and mailed to PO BOX 247, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or dropped at the snack bar at the Weibel Ave. rink weeknights between 6 & 9 PM.
