Rhett Croteau

MaltaRhett M. Croteau, 70, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. He was born in Albany, NY on December 17, 1950 to Leonard and Marie Croteau. Rhett owned and operated Croteau and Son’s Servicenter in Malta for 50 years. He was always there with a friendly smile, a good joke, and a hug. His commitment to the community was undeniable, greeting strangers and friends alike. He made everyone feel like family. Rhett was a volunteer firefighter with the Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Co, which he joined in 1971 and was an assistant chief for 15 years. He loved his family and the community of friends that became his family. He enjoyed NASCAR, Coca Cola collectibles, Hallmark movies, the NY Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys. Rhett also loved travelling in his RV with his soulmate Bev and their fur babies. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Marie, mother-in-law Anna Jenkins, brother-in-law Michael Parker, and nephew Taylor Parker. Rhett is survived by his wife Beverly, children David Eldred, Michael Eldred (Lori), Tara Miosek (Paul), Desiree Drindak (Michael), Daniel Shipski, and Matina Shipski; grandchildren Jonathon Eldred, Tyler Eldred, Jeremy Eldred, Shannon Eldred, Justin Miosek, Ethan Miosek, Ryan Eldred, Adrianna Drindak, and Zachery Miosek; siblings Regina Parker, Desiree Roberts (Tom), Tracey LaBlanc (Bob), Monique Croteau, Travis Croteau, and Tarquin Croteau (Karen); many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, August 14 from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Malta Ridge Round Lake Shared Station, 8 Hemphill Place, Malta (Parade Ground Village).
