Richard Wait Obituary

Richard T. Wait SARATOGA SPRINGS - Richard T. Wait, 85, of the Wesley Community, (formerly of Old Gick Road) passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Wesley Community, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1932 in Fort Miller, NY, he was the son of the late Percy Wait and Elvenah Bristol Wait. On September 12, 1953, he married the love of his life of 63 years, the late Marie Beagle Wait. He worked at Victory Specialty Packing Co. in Victory Mills until retirement. Richard was a dedicated, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, puttering in his garage and big gatherings with his family. There was no one more willing to lend a helping hand for those in need. One of his greatest joys in life was watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and spending time with them. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by his siblings and his son, William Farr. Survivors include his son Thomas Farr; daughters Katherine Clark (Randy) and Darlene Pearsall (Robert); grandsons Edgar V. White III (Annemarie), James M. Weaver III (Tara) and Jeremy R. Weaver (Rachel); great-grandchildren Kiernan Weaver, Izzabella White, Logan Weaver and two special nieces Chris Wait and Laura Wait. He is also survived by his step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the William J. Burke and Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial will be at Friday, August 11, 2017, 10:30am at Maplewood Cemetery. My thoughts and prayers go to all of the Wait family. Just found out about Richard. So glad we at Embury had the opportunity to meet Richard and Marie and family. It was great to see a family that knew how to enjoy life and each other and also enjoy the fun programs your family put on for us. God Bless all of you.
