Sharon O'Brien Chamberlain

Saratoga Springs, NYSharon M. O'Brien Chamberlain was a caring, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mom left this world/us on July 1st, surrounded by loving family.She was born in Utica, NY. Sharon, daughter of the late Edward W. O'Brien, and the late Helen C. Skinner- O'Brien. Her family moved to Saratoga Spring soon after her birth residing primarily at 42 Jackson St. Sharon was also predeceased by her brother (her hero) Peter D. O'Brien and two infant brothers Richard and David O'Brien.She attended/graduated from Spa Catholic School District, where she was a Majorette. She married, and over the years she had 3 children.Mom re-married the late Walter "Harry" Chamberlain, they moved to the Manning Cove area of Saratoga Lake in 1969, where she enjoyed a beautiful view of Saratoga Lake every morning and evening sunsets. Of course, living on Saratoga Lake having a boat was a must, she enjoyed spending nights floating on the lake as well as, water skiing, snowmobiling, and ice skating... They were always having weekend clam bakes with family and friends with the pool and fire pit for those moon lite gathers... She enjoyed her gardening, especially her roses.You may have seen her around Saratoga Springs, as mom was well known for her jockey and baseball hats she wore quite often throughout her life. If not the hats... You might have been more than likely to see her, well, as a friend once said to me, "Your mom always drives boss cars".... Mom's license plate read as such: "I'M SOB", yeah that would be our Mom.Mom loved to dance, so graceful, I was 13... "And all I wanted to do was watch them dance “The Jitterbug”, I hope I spelled that correctly for you Mom.Our Mom worked at various restaurants in Saratoga Springs and the Ballston Spa area. She also managed the Swimming Pool Casino. After marrying she then became a sales representative for "World's Finest Chocolate", a school, and a group fundraising company. Mom carried on with the business expanding to brochure sales until her retirement.We, are so blessed to have you as our Momma... Wish it was longer, and you are so missed and loved beyond words. We know you have made it to heaven, as we have seen your signs you have sent us... The birds, deer, and in our dreams. Forever in our hearts.Sharon is survived by her Sister, Christine O'Brien-Browning of Saratoga Springs, Brother, Michael O'Brien of Saratoga Springs, Daughter, Donna Vargo-Gunya of Gansevoort, Son, Donald S. Vargo Jr. (Anne) of Saratoga Lake, Daughter, Daphne Vargo-Dalbey of Gansevoort, Grandchildren; Paul Gunya, Lia Gunya, both of Gansevoort, Brianna Vargo of Michigan, Deedra Vargo, Shannon Vargo both of Scotia, and Ryan Dalbey (Micaela) of Ballston Spa, Neice and Nephews; Sibyl Masten (Cory) Burnt Hills, Leslie Shea (Michael) Ballston Spa, Adam O'Brien Saratoga Springs, John O'Brien (Wilma) Florida, and Nancy Jo (Rick) Eichenberg, TennesseeMemorial services will be held on July 23rd, 2021, from 2-6pm at Tunison Funeral Home 105 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
