A Celebration of Life will be at The Barn "Jay's House" starting at 3 p.m. Sept. 6 for Tate William Lehnen, who passed away Aug. 7, 2025, in a car accident.
Tate was born Sept. 3, 2001, in St. Cloud to Jason "Jay"and Pamela "Pam" (Brickweg) Lehnen. He grew up in Rice and graduated from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School in 2020. He worked at his family business, Midway Iron in St. Cloud, working in the recycling yard alongside his father, uncle and friends, running the crane and helping anywhere he was needed. Tate loved riding his Harley, especially with his father, taking many road trips including rallies in Algona and Sturgis. He also enjoyed swinging into Royalton visiting Scotty after many of his rides. Before he could ride on his own, he spent numerous miles in the Hack. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Richmond, building sandcastles on the beach with his aunt, Angie; going on boat rides with Grandpa Mike; roasting marshmallows with Grandma Alice; and fishing off the dock with his uncle, Chris. He enjoyed spending time with Grandma B, Grandpa Jim, and his uncle, Randy, especially when Grandma B made her homemade dumpling soup. His legacy will live on through his countless antics shared with his lifelong friend, Gabe. He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, his sometimes-sarcastic attitudes, his great facial expressions, his love for fireworks, his compassion for others, his willingness to help others in need, his soulful advice by all that he came in contact with, and his love/hate relationship with his late mom's guinea pigs. He took great pride in purchasing his first home and felt truly fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful neighbors. He felt grateful to share his home with his true love, Breanna. Some of their favorite moments were spent curled up watching movies, Disney's "Cars" was always his favorite. Tate's warm embraces, radiant smile and captivating eyes will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Rest in peace Tatertot.
