Alexander Shomaker Obituary

Alexander Jonathan Shomaker
Born: October 20, 1992 in Dixon, IL
Died: January 14, 2025 in Murfreesboro, TN
Alexander Jonathan Shomaker, 32, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 14, 2025. Born on October 20, 1992, Alex was known for his kind, loyal, sincere, strong, and serious personality. Alex was incredibly funny and had the most contagious laugh.
Alex served proudly in the Illinois National Guard, dedicating himself to the values of duty and service. He continued his commitment to safeguarding others through his career with Yates Security Services in Nashville, Tennessee.
He graduated from Dixon High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships and early on showed his unique blend of strength and humor.
An avid gamer and gun collector, Alex also cherished his extensive collection of Jack Daniels. His love for football Sundays was only matched by his passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities like hunting, hiking, fishing, and swimming. Above all, Alex loved spending time with his friends and family, who were central to his life.
Alexander is survived by his Mother, Genevieve Shomaker of Sterling; Father, Richard Shomaker Jr. of Dixon; Son, Tyler Shomaker of Dixon; Grandfather, Paul Moore of Dixon; Sister, Elisabeth (Mike) Bass of Dixon; Brother, Jesse (Becca) Wilson of Morrison; Sister, Kenzie (Tristan Moreno) Wilson of Sterling; Aunt, Kellie (Jared) Harshman of Dixon; Girlfriend, Alicia Hofstadter of Murfressboro and his nephew and niece, Rolan Bass and Amari Wilson. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Patricia Moore of Dixon, and Great-Grandfather, Deleven Rinehart of Dixon. Richard and Sandra Shomaker Sr of Dixon Grandfather and Grandmother.
A Celebration of Life is being planned; however, arrangements are delayed as Alex is in Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with the burial of ashes can be sent to 709 W 8th St, Sterling. Alex's memory and legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
