August 10, 1955 - May 25, 2025
Princeton - Brenda Louise Larson, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Born in Princeton, Illinois, Brenda was the daughter of the late James and Barbara (Gerard) Larson. She was a proud graduate of Walnut High School, Class of 1977, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Illinois State University.
Brenda had a fulfilling career, working at Bryant Nurseries, Hononegah High School in Rockton, IL, and Grand Ridge Girls School in Grand Ridge, IL. She was passionate about education and made a meaningful impact in every role she held.
Brenda was a vibrant and active member of her community. She was involved in several organizations, including the Humane Society of America, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, HSPCH, and the Bureau County Historical Society.
In her free time, she enjoyed boating, fishing, landscaping and yard work, she loved being in the outdoors. She was also quite good at carpentry and making things of beauty. She loved following local sports teams, and entertaining friends in her home.
She is survived by her two brothers, Bill (Chris) Larson of Rock Falls, IL, and Bob Larson of Peru, IL.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Barbara Larson, as well as her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to In Home Care Connection or Friends of Strays of Princeton, IL.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton, IL with Pastor Jed Cary offering words of comfort.
Brenda will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of nature and animals, and her unwavering kindness toward all who knew her.
