Brian Russell Hochstatter passed away April 6, 2023 in Sterling, Illinois.
Brian was born March 1, 1945 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Russel and Elaine
(Ross) Hochstatter. He graduated from Wyanet High School and married Joyce Puyear November 17, 1963 in Wesleyan Methodist Church Wyanet. He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria as a Mechanical Engineer. He also earned two Master Degrees from University of Missouri and a Professional Engineer License. He worked for several companies throughout the years and obtained three patents during his engineering career. A close second to his love of mechanical engineering was farming. He spent many years improving the land he owned. He had a soft spot for puppies and dogs, and loved playing tennis and golf.
Brian is survived by his wife, Joyce of Sterling, IL; and his loving children, Sandra Lynn (Jeff) Yockey of Urbana, IL; Kimberly Ann (Rob) Henderson of Roscoe, IL; and Bryan Ross (Jennifer) Hochstatter of Wyanet, IL; and eight grandchildren, Sarah and Jonathan (Morgan) Yockey; Bradley, Paul, and Mark Henderson; Cody, Dylan, and Amber Hochstatter; sister-in-law, Joyce Hochstatter; brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Puyear; and several nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jerry Hochstatter.
Cremation has been accorded, and a graveside service will be held April 22, 2023 at Wyanet Forrest Hill Cemetery at 11:00. A celebration of life will follow at Princeton Underground Inn from 12:00 to 3:00.
Memorial in Brian's honor may be given to Wyanet Rescue Unit, Wyanet Fire Department, or Alzheimer's Association.
