Carolyn C. Howell, age 84, of Franklin Grove, died Thursday, February 27, 2025 at OSF St. Katherine Medical Center in Dixon.
Carolyn was born May 16, 1940 in Sublette, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Pearl (Blaine) Piper. She married Darwin Howell on November 26, 1962 in Amboy. He preceded her in death in 1990. Carolyn was a farm owner and housewife. She enjoyed being around young people and loved animals. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Cushman of AZ, Debra Howell of Franklin Grove, and Tracy Howell of Franklin Grove; two grandchildren, Dustin Cushman of Flagstaff, AZ and Emily Cushman of Littleton, CO; and one great granddaughter, Charlene Roberto.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Darla Piper; and one son-in-law, James Cushman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow at 10:00 AM with Pastor Douglas Wood of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy officiating. Burial will be at Van Orin Repose Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
