Died: January 20, 2022 in Palmer, AK
David Kobbeman Burke, 70, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his home.
David was born May 21, 1951 in Sterling, IL, the son of Lawrence E. and Helen (Kobbeman) Burke.
He graduated from Woodlawn Grade School in Sterling, and Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling in 1969. He attended the University of Illinois in Champaign- Urbana.
Survivors include his wife Betty Ann (Hopkins) Burke of Chugiak, Alaska; daughter Anna (Joe) Dugan of Anchorage, Alaska; granddaughters Madeline and Hailey; sisters Mary Kathleen (John) Knowles; Marta Vasquez; Jean (George) Ransom and Barbara (Joe) Hermes; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog Elsie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Lawrence H. Burke.
He worked on the Alaska pipeline and later worked for the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation in their weatherization program.
He enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing and the great outdoors.
From the time he shot the TV screen with his BB gun (helping out the Lone Ranger) to the time he shot a stalking bear on his deck at Eagle River, Alaska, his life was full of adventures.
David will be greatly missed.

I worked with Dave the past several years and enjoyed getting to know him. He always had a smile was eager to help out anyone in need and was an all around good guy. I will miss him-

Dave and I were good friends in the same class at
Woodlawn, he was always one of the smartest kids in the class, we remained freinds in High School even though we went to different schools. After Dave moved to Alaska we only saw each other a couple times, the last we went flying with Dave as the pilot. I'm sure he will be missed by his friends and family.
