Donna Hoyle Obituary

Donna L. Hoyle
Born: November 29, 1931 in Hammond, IN
Died: January 19, 2025 in Sterling, IL
On Sunday Jan. 19, 2025, the heavens welcomed the most precious angel, Donna L. Hoyle of Dixon. At the age of 93 she passed away peacefully at Avonlea in Sterling, Illinois. She was born on Nov. 29, 1931, in Hammond IN, the daughter of Joseph and Veleda (Zimmerman) Streibich. Donna married William F. Hoyle on Nov. 5, 1955, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1978. After his death she continued operating Hoyle Road Equipment until her retirement. When she was younger, she was a member of the Jaycee-ettes and the Community Players. She also faithfully served on the KSB Board of Directors for 30 years. After her retirement she especially enjoyed volunteering her time as a reading mentor for Dixon Public Schools as well as librarian at St. Anne's School. She was proud of her dedication and service to the Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center as she served as a board member. Donna's loss is deeply felt by her family and those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched. She was always there to listen and offer support to anyone who walked through her door. We imagine she is floating in a pool, hanging with the Larod Drive gang, and making her delicious fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. Besides her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, William and John, her parents, stepfather Amos Sharp, daughter –in- law Doreen Hoyle, brother-in-law Jim Hoyle, sister-in-law Janet (Bill) Trigg, niece Darla Morrissey and nephew Bert "Chip" Jones Jr. Donna is survived by her children William "Bill" (Sarah Keller) Hoyle of Dixon, Keely (Roger) Dewey of Dixon, her cherished grandchildren Bill Hoyle, Christal (Michael Klett) Hoyle, Amy (Jim Clarida) Hoyle, Austin (Kaitlyn) Dewey, Katie (Daegan Wharff) Dewey, her adored great grandchildren Dylan (Siren Lewis) Bushman, Addy Hoyle, Theo Hoyle, Autumn Klett, Elias Dewey, Cyrus Dewey and Evelyn Clarida, her dearest sister Sandra Jones of Franklin Grove, and several treasured nieces and nephews and their children. The family thanks all those special angels who helped with her care the last few years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Feb. 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be on Saturday Feb. 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center and the Make a Wish Foundation. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
