STERLING - Edward "Kenny" Kenneth Burress, 84, of Sterling, died on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling.
Kenny was born August 4, 1941, in Bluefield, VA, the son of James and Tiny (Stump) Burress. He married Janice Stevens in 1960 in Virginia. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2017. Kenny was employed at Northwestern Steel & Wire for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing in pool leagues, and traveling home to Virginia to visit family.
Survivors include two sons, David (Melissa) Burress, of Prophetstown, Michael (Tommy) Buress, of Rockford; one sister, Melvana Aliff of West Palm Beach, FL; one brother, Leornard (Faith) Burress, of Princeton, WV; and special friend, Robin Cooper, of Prophetstown.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; eight sisters; and one granddaughter, Sierra Burress.
Private graveside service will be held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with Reverend Kristy Pipes officiating.
