Francine "Fran" Nickel age 42 of Amboy unexpectedly passed away on Monday June 3, 2024. She was born on Oct. 8, 1981 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Deryle and Judy (Delhotal) Nickel. Fran worked for Schimmer Chevrolet in Mendota for the last four years. She was a bright light with her fun and loving personality. She was known for her hearty laugh and ability to have a good time. Fran's greatest joy was her son William. She is preceded in death by her brother Deryle A. "DJ" Nickel, her maternal grandparents Margaret and Donald "Papa Porky" Delhotal, paternal grandparents Alfred Nickel, and Alyce Miller. Fran is survived by her son William, parents Deryle and Judy Nickel of Amboy, brother Hank (Genia) Nickel of Mendota, her fiance Harley Brandel of Amboy, nieces and nephews Calvin (Kaylee) Nickel, Kenzie Nickel, Baylie Nickel, Owen Nickel, step nieces and nephew Alexandra Fox, and Hayden Fox. She is also survived by a close-knit group of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday June 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. A memorial has been established for her son William's education.
