Francis Faivre Obituary
Born: March 25, 1943; Amboy
Died: April 21, 2021; Shabbona
DIXON – Francis "Frank" W. Faivre, age 78, formerly of Dixon and Franklin Grove, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehab in Shabbona, IL.
He was born on March 25, 1943 in Amboy, IL, the son of John and Jeannette (Wurth) Faivre. Frank owned and operated Chicagoland Power Products in West Chicago, and then was the owner / operator of Tidy Bug in Dixon for 15 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Dixon Elks Lodge, Ogle County Pilots, and the Ham Radio Operators club. He served in the National Guard and in the past volunteered with the Lombard and West Chicago fire departments.
Frank married Eleanor Harper on April 20, 1963 in Sterling, IL. She preceded in him death on Jan. 15, 2004. He then married Carole Montefusco on March 27, 2010 in Dixon IL.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; and brother-in-law, Douglas Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Carole; two sons, Chuck (Joyce) Faivre of Dixon and Marty (Patti) Faivre of Elburn; one daughter, Kathryn (Kevin) Manion of Rochelle; and seven grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Alex, Aaron, Jeremy, Jacob, and Nicholas. He is also survived by three sisters, Marianne (Robert) Huber of Dixon, Janice (Raymond) Conkrite of Woosung, and Clare Faivre –Stevens of Palm Desert, CA; one brother John D. (Vicki) Faivre of Rho Mission Viego, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life and open house will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Rd. Dixon, IL. Burial of cremains will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
