Died: August 17, 2022
Frank Wayne Evans, 85 of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Frank was born on September 11, 1936 in Grantsburg, Ill., the son of Herschel and Doris (Worrell) Evans. He married Mary Roberts on May 11, 1985 in Rock Falls. Frank worked as a custom home builder for 40 years. He played lead guitar in local bands for over 60 years. He was a past master of the Rock Falls Masonic Lodge #936.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Rock Falls; his children, Jeanne (Bob) Izral of Sterling, Eric Evans of Phoenix, AZ; stepchildren, Keri (Jeff) Olson of Sterling, and Rick (Hope) Roberts of Sterling, loved as his own; one sister, Julia (Dave) Thomas of Silvas, Ill.; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Janice Evans Prentice and Lisa Evans; one son, Greg Evans; two grandchildren, Anthony and Audrey; and three siblings, Nellie Harden, Joe Evans, and Eddie Evans.
Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling with Pastor Les Funderberg officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the American Legion in Rock Falls.
