Gary M Lauer age 58 of Dixon passed away on Saturday July 6, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born on April 17, 1966 in Mendota, IL the son of Elroy and Kathleen (Eiberger) Lauer. His greatest memories was growing up on a farm in rural Sublette. Gary was an Assistant Supervisor at Allied Locke Industries where he worked for the past 37 years. He married Lori Kant on March 17, 2001 in Dixon, IL. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanne Esgar, brothers Robert Lauer and Jerome Lauer. He is survived by his wife Lori, 4 step children Donald (Teri) Kant of Amboy, Tabatha (Kyle) Near of Lee Center, Barbara Kant of Dixon, Joshua (Kelsey) Kant of Amboy, 13 grandchildren Donovan, Tatum, Naomi, Carlo, Levi, Nadia, Taylor, Eric, Alex, Breanna, Amelia, Paisley, Adah Mae, and currently one great grand daughter Cirenity. He had a very special bond with his granddaughter Nadia. Gary is also survived by 2 brothers Thomas (Kim) Lauer of Ashton, Martin (Cathy) Lauer of Amboy, 5 sisters Susan (Kevin) Shaw of Estacada, OR, Linda Dimmig of Mendota, Lisa (Gary) Setchell of Ottawa, Cathy (Bruce) Bankes of Troy Gove, and Brenda (Dustin) Haynes of La Salle. Visitation will be on Friday July 12, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Funeral services will be on Friday July 12, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Cremation rites will follow. A memorial has been established to Parkinson Research Fund. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.

Gary thank you so much for loving Lori and her kids unconditionally you were a very strong caring and loving man this world has lost a decent human being who never had a bad word to say to anyone praying you are at peace and praying God will help Lori and the kids threw this God bless rest in peace
