Glenn Keime Obituary

Glenn "Jim" Keime
Born: January 12, 1938
Died: July 15, 2025
Glenn "Jim" Keime, age 87, of Sterling, died on July 15, 2025 with his loving wife by his side.
Glenn was born on January 12, 1938 to Glenn M. and Esther (Conkling) Keime. He graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1955, and married Marcia Vroman in November 1961.
He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and received the rank of 1st Class Aviation Electrician's Mate (AE1). After enlistment, he served in the naval reserves. He worked as an electrician at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. for 38 years before retiring in 1998. Planes were his passion; he had his first solo flight in 1961 and later was employed by O'Rourke Flying Service and Cousins Flying Service as a flight instructor and charter pilot. As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed boating, camping and was bicycling well into his 80s.
Glenn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rock River Development Authority and the last surviving member of the Barn Owls.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Lori (Skip McCloud) Adell and Julie (Matthew Garland) Paisley; six grandchildren, Katie (Nate) Driessens, Betsy (David) Myszkowski, Sarah (Brandon) Davidson, Taylor (Tim) Zultanski, Drew (Claudia) Paisley, and Dylan (Vanessa) Paisley; and four great-grandchildren, Ellise Keaschall, Dax Driessens, Brooks Zultanski and Adele Davidson; and his cat, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Ellmaker; and son-in-law Ronald M. Paisley.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow at the church.
A memorial is established to St. John's Lutheran Church and CGH Health Foundation. And, as a tribute to his memory, make sure you have your eye pressures checked yearly.
