Guy E. Pillars Jr, 79, formerly of Rock Falls, died Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home in Knoxville, TN.
He was born on April 16, 1943 in Rock Falls, the son of Guy Edmond and Blanche (Latta) Pillars Sr. He attended local school and had perfect attendance all 12 years of schooling. Guy served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion and served on the Marine Corp Honor Guard. He married Tracey Henson on August 18, 2006. Guy had worked for 34 as an auto mechanic having owned and operated Pillars Repair in Rock Falls until retiring in 2019. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Sterling
Survivors include his wife Tracey; his daughter Kristen (Victor) Supertino of Bakersfield, CA; sons: Mark Pillars of Santa Anna, CA and Kent Pillars of Apple Valley, CA; step sons: Rhett Henson of Corrington, TN and Robbie of TN and Kholton of IL; and step daughter Paige of TN; his sisters: Lynn Newburgh of Rock Falls, Jean Bushman of Rock Falls and Nancy Lee of MO; his grandchildren: Riley and Ryder Supertino; Demi Pillars, Brandon and Dillon Pillars; step grandchildren: Bentley, Danny and Sammy Henson and Magnus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 9 -10 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 10 AM at the church with the Reverend Roger Carlson, Pastor and Reverend Dan Bentz co officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Marine Corps Honor Guard.

We lived across the street from Guy and have known the family for over 30 year's he was a great neighbor and friend.

i use to take my car to Pillars Repair. This guy was a "master mechanic" !!

I knew Mr Pillars from his repair shop in Rock Falls, I delivered many parts there through the years. He was always a wonderful person. My deepest condolences to his family
