Henry "Hank" Magnafici age 74 of Princeton and formerly of Dixon died Thursday Jan. 11, 2023 at OSF St Clare Hospital in Princeton. He was born May 14, 1949 in Dixon the son of Emil and Theresa (Harmon) Magnafici.
Hank was not expected to live very long; yet he defied all odds and lived for 74 years.
Hank had many family members who cared for and supported him throughout his life. He loved them all.
He loved his friends and staff at Lowell Park group home and Kreider Day Services.
During the last few years, he resided at Aperion Care in Princeton. He positively impacted the lives of many staff there, just as he did throughout his life.
Hank was a fan of the Dixon Dukes and all Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs. He was able to attend his first and only Cubs game in 2019.
Hank was a big game show fan. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were among his favorites. While living at Lowell Park, he became a "crime junkie" and rarely missed a "Dateline".
Classic cars were always a favorite topic. Initially, Hank loved the 1965 Ford Mustang and in later years, the 1958 Chevy Impala and all the Impalas to follow. His Impala was going to be blue (and then eventually red) as it was the "the best car on the road".
He enjoyed being outdoors, sitting in the sun and counting the cars that would pass by. Other favorites included Elvis, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash. Nobody could sing a sweeter "Love Me Tender" than Hank. He brought a smile and joy to all who met him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Elizabeth in infancy, five brothers William, Joseph, Eugene, Robert and Richard "Pat" Magnafici, three sisters Anne Ceresa, Susan Passini and Judy Ottinger and the love of his life Judy Wells.
Hank is survived by one brothers Thomas (Gae) Magnafici of Dresser, WI, many nieces and nephews and his many friends at Kreider Services.
Funeral Services will be held at a later date with burial of cremains at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations in Hank's name can be made to Kreider Services in Dixon.
