Died: September 25, 2025 in Dixon, IL
DIXON – Johnny Wayne Ashby was taken to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on September 25, 2025.
He was born in Dixon on May 31, 1944, the son of Omer Lee and Elizabeth (McCluney) Ashby. John married Sharon Boyd on December 22, 1963 in Dixon. He loved his family, and was an avid Chicago Bears & New York Yankees fan.
Survivors include two sons, John (Lila) Ashby Jr of Eveleth, Mn and Jason (Michelle) Ashby of Dixon; one sister, Ann Mansel of Mumford, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Cluck, Derek Ashby, Nickolas Ashby, Barbara Zigler, Danielle Lowery, Eric Lowery and Rhea Ashby; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and special aunt Faye.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
