Died: February 14, 2024 in Sterling, IL
John Hal Duncan, 87, of Rock Falls, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Bethesda Cemetery, Hillsdale, IL. Memorials may be made to Happy Tails Humane Society, 1408 McNeil Rd., Rock Falls, IL 61071. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in care of arrangements.
John was born April 29, 1936 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Dorothy Bridges and Donald Paul Duncan. He was a Navy Veteran and worked at GE in Morrison for 30+ years. He loved his family, mushroom hunting, going to the river boats, watching the History Channel and hanging out at Nicks Tap in Rock Falls.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law Paul & Debra Duncan of Hazelhurst, IL; one step-daughter, Jessie Pimental of Arizona; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two on the way; as well as sisters, Milly Duncan (Bruce Bennett) of Moline and Janet Fidlar of Moline and niece, Erin Ketelsen.
