John C. Fry, 63, passed peacefully at Rock River Hospice and Home on November 23, 2022, surrounded by his family.
John was born on February 18, 1959, the son of John T. (J.T.) Fry and Betty Fry. He went to Rock Falls High School until joining the Army as a Radio Operator, where he served from 1977-1980. While in the military, he met his wife Andrea in Germany. They were married May 23rd, 1981. He worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire until their closure in 2001. He obtained his Associates Degree from Sauk Valley Community College in 2005. He retired from Plews Edelmann in Dixon in 2021.
John is survived by his wife, Andrea, of Sterling; mother, Betty Fry, of Moline; brother, Brian (Teresa) Fry, of Andalusia; sister-in-law, Petra Fry, of Thomson; brother-in-law, Peter (Sabine) Oßwald, of Germany; sister-in-law, Martina (Kurt) Goetz, of Germany; his two daughters, Sabrina (Kyle) Pletsch, Lisa (Derick) Everly and one son, Christopher Fry, all of Sterling and three grandchildren, Jaxson Everly, Joseph Pletsch, and Elisabeth Everly and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father, John T. (J.T.) Fry; two brothers, John A. (Tony) Fry and Nathan T. Fry; his in-laws, Kurt (Elisabeth) Oßwald; and several aunts, uncles, and a cousin.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. For online condolences, please visit: www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com.
