STERLING – Josephine Utsch, 77 of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Morningside of Sterling.
Josephine was born on June 26, 1943 in Coeburn, VA, the daughter of Henry and Maggie (Lawson) Sexton. She married Henry Utsch. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2013.
Survivors include her son, Allen (Marilyn) Dotson of Bristol, TN; her daughter, Rebecca (Robbie) Soderdahl of Rogersville, TN; stepdaughter, Marlene Downs of GA; two grandchildren, Ronnie Lawley and Devon Lawley; one great-grandson, RJ Lawley; one sister, Pansy (Harlen) Browning of Sterling; two brothers, John (Glenda) Riner of Denton, NC and Arlis Riner of Coeburn, VA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jean McCoy and Lily Mae Sexton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter in infancy; and her siblings, Robert Clinton Sexton, Garnet McCoy, Frank Sexton, Jessie Sexton, Dixie McCoy and Bessie Sexton.
Visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
