It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua C. Porter, age 36, who was born on October 28th, 1988, and left this world far too soon.
Josh was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shaela, and their two children, Analeigh and Dawson, who were the light of his life; his mother, Cathy Dewald; his brother, Matthew, and sister-in-law, Savana Porter; three nieces and one nephew, his paternal grandmother Norma Porter; his father-in-law John & Kimberly Long, mother-in-law Peggy & Russell Blase, and his brother-in-law Jason & Kacie Long, along with their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Porter, maternal grandparents Barb and Craig Dewald, uncle Todd Dewald, paternal grandfather, Clinton Porter, and niece, Rylee Porter.
Josh's love for his family was immeasurable, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He will be remembered by his loving family, countless friends, and the many customers and colleagues whose lives he touched through Porter Brothers Construction, Inc.
Josh leaves behind not only his immediate family but also a circle of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Though his time here was far too short, his impact will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025 from 9-11 AM at Abiding Word Church in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Dr. Scott Porter officiating. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
May he rest peacefully, knowing he was deeply loved.
