Died: September 30, 2021 in Deerfield Beach, FL
Kenneth R. Wiersema, age 78, of Sterling, died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Kenneth was born July 2, 1943, in Morrison the son of David, Sr. and Carrie (Engelkins) Wiersema. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Kenneth was employed as a welder at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 20 years and later was an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and visiting with friends.
He is survived by three daughters, Amy (Randall) Reed of Sterling, Addie (Jason) Pace of Sterling and Michelle Wiersema of Rock Falls; one sister, Carol (LaVerne) Schroeder of Morrison; five grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Taylor (Justin) LeBarron, Joe Romero, Emily Romero and Drew Pace; and two great grandchildren, Parker and Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Wiersema; and one brother, Dave Wiersema.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM.
